Plot
CIA operative Joe tries to balance his personal and professional life as the tip of the spear in the agency’s war on terror. Real-life military advisors helped create a more authentic performance of gun handling, house clearing, positioning, squad-based action, etc.
Best new show in the world
After the disappointing 4th season of Jack Ryan and the weak shows all around, this felt like a much better show in every way. It looks really well made and the action/fight scenes look great.
Great acting by everyone
I feel like most of the criticism of this show in the comments section seems to come down to how unrealistic it is because of all the camera work, and I, for one, don’t mind a good female-led action show that’s an original IP that doesn’t turn a leading man into a leading woman. I also haven’t seen any red flags so far like making every man look incompetent or anything.
PS: Nicole Kidman’s role so far is incredibly small and uneventful and could have been done by anyone else
Also, at first I thought it was going to be more of an action-first, pointless show, but then they kind of dove into the family a bit, and I usually cringe at that, but I didn’t like what they did there . My only criticism is that the plot of what this particular camera crew is doing is very story-limiting and could kill it by going past the plot of the season/villain…it needs to be more encompassing so they can eventually make a new , more action-packed Homeland, otherwise it risks becoming too episodic like The Blacklist.
It’s entertaining even without being the History Channel show that some commentators seem to prefer
.We’ll see what the great Morgan Freeman brings to the show…But from what I’ve seen so far, the show can stand on its own with Zaldana without another A-Lister. TLDR Overall Cautiously optimistic, but I like what I’ve seen so far, everything is incredibly polished and well done.
