Based on the novel “Earth Alive” by George R
Plot
After months of isolation, Isherwood "Ish" Williams learns that much of the world has fallen victim to a mysterious disease. Yet, despite his instincts for further isolation, Ish sets out to develop a new civilization.
The novel is written in the late 1940s, after World War II
Stewart. Referenced in the Korman Productions Deep Dive TV podcast: Earth Alive in MGM+ Deep Dive Episode 1, “Alone”; with Dave and Stacie (2024).
The version on my shelf is copyrighted 1947, but Wikipedia says 1949
The effect of the story is that someone 80 years ago was writing about a global pandemic and its potential effects on people. Ish represents the reader, someone who hasn’t had to watch people die, watch the news, feel the hopelessness and defeat.
It ties in very closely with the poem Ozymandias
The people he meets represent the way people can deal with these huge losses. The fragility of man and the feat of humanity in achievements.

I look forward to the remaining parts and re-reading the novel once again.. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
