Embassy (at Nine Elms) in 2018
Plot
In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler is offered a high-profile job that she is ill-suited for, and that has geographic implications for her marriage and political future. The producers of the series were given permission by the American & British governments to use real-life locations for the series, including the still-newly opened U.S. Britain allowed filming inside the Foreign Office, a rare honor given to any film or production, especially an American one.
Presented at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024)
The only location that was unavailable was Winfield House, the real-life home of the U.S. ambassador. Although it is accurately described as occupying the largest residential estate in London (11 hectares) outside of Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming.
So cerebral and captivating
I watched The Night Agent and I thought it couldn’t get any better, and I was wrong. I loved every second of this series. Everything you want in a series.
Played to perfection
The characters and acting were first class. It was great to see the wonderful Rufus Sewell again and what a role he played not knowing what was coming next. Keri Russell was simply brilliant as the ambassador.
I also loved David Gyasi
Overall, a fantastic series, maybe a little short, but worth watching. The best political show since The West Wing. Excellent!
